Eclipse Shirt In ‘Handloom Black Linen’

Twelve bone buttons march down a double placket in two unforgiving columns: precise, composed and then, low on the chest, a single hand-embroidered figure breaks rank: limbs flung mid-step.

Linen has outlasted empires; ours is handloom, slow by nature, every slub a record of the weaver rather than a flaw in the weave. The figure descends from Chomak: a traditional Gujarati motif born not in the form of embroidery or print, but in the loom itself, with extra threads woven into the cloth as it is made, known as extra weft weaving.
