Eclipse Shirt In 'Handloom Linen’– Off-Cut Detail
Nothing leaves the studio. Strips of raw-edged offcut—whatever remained from the collection that week, frayed and left exactly as they fell—run the full length of this shirt in vertical columns applied onto handloom white linen, held by a double placket of mother-of-pearl buttons. What another maker would discard, we made the point of the whole piece.
Linen has outlasted empires, prized for the very thing machines cannot replicate—the hand. Ours is handloom, slow by nature, every slub a record of the weaver. The offcuts layered onto it arrive from wherever they were needed least—linen, khadi, cotton, stripe, plain—raw edges left unfinished and unapologetic, fraying further with every wear. No two shirts are the same. Yours will be its own.
