The Oracle has something to tell you. Worn like a card pulled from the deck — a moon at its back, a fortune in its weave. In khadi muslin from Murshidabad — handspun on a Gandhi charkha at approximately 100 count — it arrives in a woven purple , green and grey stripe, cut floor-length, fitted at the bodice, open at the back. The moon sits embroidered where the back dips lowest. The rest is up to you.

  • handspun, handwoven khadi muslin, Murshidabad, West Bengal
  • approximately 100 count, Gandhi charkha
  • handwoven on a pit loom
  • woven stripe, backless with moon embroidery
  • cotton lining
  • moon reading card included in every order

The Mughals called Bengal muslin woven air — a cloth so fine it was coveted by empires and suppressed by colonial trade. Ours is handspun on a Gandhi charkha and handwoven on a pit loom by craft artisans of Murshidabad, at a pace the machine will never understand. The slight irregularities in the weave are not imperfections; they are the signature of the hand.
